Blake T. Ellender
Hi, I’m Blake Ellender. I’m a scientist and I’ve been working with plants for over a decade. I’ve been around plants my entire life and they have been a lifelong fascination. Whether it was trying to grow my own carnivorous plants or seaweed in my locker at school, I always have been growing any strange specimen I can get my hands on. Through this process, I learned that my local ecology has so many wonderful oddities to offer. Many of these plants are uncommon but exceptionally easy to grow. When you plant locally you don’t have to fight nature to provide an environment you just don’t have. Though not all of the live plants sold here are local, most are and they are all tested to thrive in our local environment when given the care they need. So why break your back when you can have Japanese blood grass and Ohio native purple pitcher plants instead of grass and weeds?
